Similar to past Telltale Games titles, for every action there is a reaction each episode is crammed with scenes focusing on Bruce Wayne and also his secret identity. Occasionally an awkward and cheesy line arises, but honestly even the best of actors are at the mercy of the script they’re handed. The voice actors really do a great job with the script they’re given, which for the most part is top-notch. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised and seriously impressed with the overall quality of both the visual and audio production. Having never experienced a Telltale offering before, Batman Telltale seemed like a match made in heaven and a perfect time to dive into the Telltale catalogue.

Starting with the animated series, moving through the Hollywood movies and also with the recent (and excellent) Arkham games, my love for the Dark Knight has only grown over time. Like many others, I’ve had a consistent stream of Batman throughout my life. Having always been interested in playing a Telltale game I was excited to experience their latest production to arrive on the Switch, for I’ve always been a fan of the Batman universe. Telltale Games’ unique story-telling adventure games seemed to have captured an audience, seemingly by releasing new franchises to tell their own story with.

This is mostly handled very well, although there are admittedly some choices that initially felt consequential, however they ended up having little impact to the overall plot. In typical fashion, Telltale limits player interactivity mostly to dialogue options and quick-time events, weaving a carefully curated story that can be moderately altered by player choices and actions.
